Here at Rhodes Wealth Management, our business mission is to ‘change people’s lives for the better’, and this is just one example of how we go above and beyond to achieve this…

Tom Webster (Wealth Management Consultant at RWM) visited his clients Mr and Mrs Quinnell for their half-yearly review meeting at the end of last year. During the visit, Mrs Quinnell mentioned that Careline – a charity she regularly volunteers for – were struggling for funding and volunteers. Careline are a non-profit organisation based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire who offer a free telephone befriending service for people living in the Derbyshire Dales and East Staffordshire.

Tom saw this as an opportunity to help “When Mrs Quinnell explained that Careline were struggling for funding, especially with it being so close to Christmas, I thought about how we as a company could support this charity who are so local to RWM. St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation immediately came to mind, as one of their key focuses is mental health

Through Mrs Quinnell, Tom was introduced to Jane Fulham, who has been the Manager at Careline for eleven years. After a few discussions around how Careline operate and their future plans and projects, Tom applied for a grant from the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation to help fund their plans to merge with Crich Careline. As well as taking on all of Crich Careline’s members and volunteers, it would also go towards supporting a new Customer Management System that will allow the volunteers to access everything they need remotely for those who wish to continue making calls from home.

We recently had confirmation that the grant has been successful and Tom visited Jane and Mrs Quinnell at their office in St Oswalds Hospital to meet some of the volunteers, and to congratulate them on the good news. Jane commented Rhodes Wealth Management are fully engaged and interested in Careline’s activities and development; we would like to thank them so much for that.  They fully managed the seamless application process and communicated with us throughout.  Once again, we would like to thank them for everything they have done for Careline”
