Twelve Highlights of 2022
We’ve had a busy year at Rhodes Wealth Management! Despite the economic difficulties we have all faced in 2022, it has also been a year full of celebrations and achievements, so join us as we take a look back at the past year to highlight just twelve of our best bits…
12 – Virtual Valentines Cook-A-Long
We kicked off our 2022 client events with a virtual Valentine’s cook-a-long. Hosted by Michelin Star trained chef Darryl Breen, we were taken step-by-step through a delicious Valentines themed two-course menu, perfect to surprise a loved one with on Valentines Day.
11 – Chatsworth Horse Trials
We held this event on a sunny day in May and what a glorious day we had. Our clients and guests enjoyed a three-course lunch and afternoon tea in the VIP marquee, all whilst watching the horse trials with an incredible view alongside the show ring.
10 – Defibrillator Installation and Training
In line with our company mission to ‘change people’s lives for the better’ we had a defibrillator installed at our Brailsford office and ran a free training course for the local community. This enabled our team and the community to feel more confident in using a defibrillator in an emergency situation as well as peace of mind knowing there is a defibrillator nearby.
9 – Derbyshire County Show
It was the first time since the pandemic that we took part in the Derbyshire Show and it was great to be interacting with the show visitors again. Those who visited our stand could make a small donation to charity to spin our prize wheel and winners got to choose from various goodies.
8 – Clay Shooting Event
Our clients always have great fun at the Clay Shooting afternoon hosted at Yeaveley Estate in Ashbourne. This year we took 20 clients of all ages and abilities to compete to win the 1st place prize! After an action-packed afternoon of shooting clays, we sat down to a delicious high tea in the lodge.
7 – Internal Promotions and Achievements
At RWM we aim to create an environment where our employees can thrive and develop in their careers. Throughout 2022, we as a business achieved multiple exam passes, several internal promotions and have recruited new advisers to start their journey with the St. James’s Place academy ready to step into adviser roles with RWM next year.
6 – Voluntary Dog Walking
We are a team of dog lovers at RWM and with April being Stress Awareness Month, we thought what better way to reduce stress levels than to spend time with some furry friends. Our team members walked and played with some of the rescued dogs which not only allowed our team to get away from their desks and in the fresh air, but also freed up some much needed time for the Just For Dogs staff.
5 – Team Building
Although we work as a team every day, we believe it’s essential to get together away from the working environment to learn, problem solve and most importantly – have fun! Some of the team building activities we have participated in this year include quad biking, visiting St. James’s Place head office in Cirencester and rally driving. We can’t wait to see what next year will bring.
4 – Me&dee Charity Bake Off
Our chosen partner charity for 2022 was me&dee. The charity supports families facing very short and uncertain futures by gifting them with memories they can treasure, such as a holiday in their Lodge in Sherwood Hideaway. One way in which we raised money for me&dee was a team bake off challenge and the competition was fierce as it turns out we have a team of fantastic bakers! A big thanks to Mark and Maria for judging the competition.
3 – Annual Golf Day
This year we held our golf day at Branston Golf & Country Club and had 22 teams participate with the chance of winning the RWM trophy. Non-golfers had a game of adventure golf before heading into the spa for a more relaxing afternoon. Through generous donations to our charity raffle, we raised £1335 for Pamoja Leo which could buy 193 tins of formula milk to feed 24 babies for a month.
2 – Christmas at Chatsworth
With Christmas around the corner, it was only right that our final client event of the year was a festive one. The day began with a presentation by Paul Smith at Rowan Dartington, followed by a tour of the beautifully decorated Chatsworth House and a 3 course lunch to finish. It certainly got us in the festive spirit!
1 – RWM 15th Anniversary
September marked 15 years since Adam Rhodes founded Rhodes Wealth Management. From modest beginnings (in Adam’s garden shed) the business has grown over the years to where we are now; providing first-class wealth management advice to thousands of clients, whilst offering an environment for a brilliant team of people to be the best version of themselves. We’re very excited about the next 15 years to come.
Thank you to our clients for a wonderful year, bring on 2023!
